In early 2026, something became clear: a new category of traffic was accumulating on websites that nobody was measuring.
GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot — the crawlers that power AI search and recommendation engines — were hitting sites every day. None of it appeared in GA4. None of it appeared in standard analytics. It landed in server logs and went unread.
At the same time, marketers were noticing referral traffic from Perplexity, ChatGPT, and other AI platforms ticking up in their GA4 data — but the numbers were obviously incomplete. Referrer stripping was hiding the bulk of the signal. The real number was higher, and nobody knew how much higher.
Caught between an upstream signal nobody was reading and a downstream signal that was being stripped, the AI funnel was effectively invisible.
DarkTraffiK is the three-signal AI funnel measurement layer.
Signal 1: server-side AI crawler detection — unstrippable, always counts up. Signal 2: scheduled citation monitoring — a light presence signal that populates the middle of the funnel. Signal 3: GA4 referral reveal — the floor, explicitly framed as a floor.
Together, they render the complete funnel: AI Reads → AI Cites → Human Clicks. And they produce the one output no other tool can generate: the crawled-but-not-cited gap list — the topics AI is actively reading on your site but never recommending.

Your content goes to the AI provider you choose, using your API key, at cost. DarkTraffiK takes no cut of AI usage. We believe you should own your data and your costs.
Human-in-the-loop by default
The Pro Action Layer is supervised by default. Every draft waits for approval. Autonomous mode is opt-in, licence-gated, and never the default. We believe AI-generated content should always have a human in the loop before it publishes.
